Lanreotide

Lanreotide is a somatostatin analog and cyclic octapeptide that mimics the action of native somatostatin by binding with high affinity to somatostatin receptor subtypes 2 and 5 (SSTR2/SSTR5), thereby suppressing excessive secretion of growth hormone (GH), insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), and various gastrointestinal peptides. Lanreotide is primarily used for the treatment of acromegaly and gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs), representing one of the core peptide therapeutics in the global neuroendocrine disease market.
